Our Founder
Dolores Sdn Bhd is a story of transformation, discovery, and vision. It is built on the knowledge and experience of Nicolas Bergeron, our founder and managing director.
Early career
As a Canadian citizen, our founder built a successful career as a video game developer, shipping multiple award-winning AAA titles. This led to his next project as a University Computer Science lecturer. Sharing his passion for technology, collaboration and innovation with students has been such a rewarding experience.
A New Chapter in 2020
In 2020, our founder made a life-changing decision to relocate his family to Penang, Malaysia. What drew him to this vibrant island was not just opportunity, but something deeper - a rich tapestry of history and culture that captivated his imagination and opened new horizons.
The Durian Discovery
Like many newcomers to Southeast Asia, our founder had his first encounter with durian, the infamous "king of fruits." But unlike many who are put off by its distinctive aroma, he was enchanted by the passion it triggers for the enthusiasts. He discovered the simple pleasures of eating fresh durian, experiencing firsthand the rich flavors that locals had celebrated for generations.
This simple pleasure sparked a profound interest in agriculture. Agriculture is more than just farming, it is a convergence of technology, sustainability, and community development areas where his background in technology and education could make a real difference.
From Passion to Investment
Our founder took his newfound passion further, investing in agricultural land. This wasn't just a business decision-it was a commitment to understanding agriculture from the ground up, to learning the rhythms of the land, and to building something meaningful for the community.
This investment became the foundation of Dolores Sdn Bhd, where expertise in technology and education combined with passion for sustainable agriculture.
